  • Mercury Switch

I read about making an alarm and using a mercury switch. This sounds like a good idea, but where can a switch like this be purchased?
    Thanks.

HA HA, any TERRORIST should have one you can get. Sounds like you going to build a booby trap.

Check with someone that sells and installs car alarms. They should have what you need. Maybe not a mercury switch but something similar that will detect movement.

Find a good electronic component supplier in your area, they'll have it.

                        Hi Tod,
a slug of plastic in the tip works OK but the bullet will be lighter than a mercury filled one.
You can always modify a heavier bullet to regain the impact energy.

It was a joke. They showed it doesn't really work for more tissue damage.. except maybe EVERY shot would be a kill shot. (Eventually...)

I believe, if I am not mistaken, the idea is/was the bullet disintegrates leaving no usable ballistic evidence, while maintaining most of the weight of an unmodified bullet.

Otherwise, hydrashocks are the way to go.
