  • New Paint!

Dropped off the replacement tank I got from Andreas and my side covers last week to get them painted. A bit of cleanup on the tank.
    They came out Great!
BTW, that is one of the golf cart chrome emblems I got for $20(for both), until I can find some of the gold tank emblems.
    Here's the tank,

    Richard

        Indigo Blue

Is it close to the original Indigo Blue? Who painted and what did you pay if you don't mind saying? Are the pin stripes painted?

Color was the Toyota Blue-Black Effect Code 210
          http://www.xs11.com/forum/showpost.p...03&postcount=5

A collision shop here in Katy,TX painted it. Cost was $210 for the tank & side covers, base coat/clear coat and pinstriping. He had just a bit of clean-up on the tank and straightened out the top which had a little depression(dent) in it. Pinstripes were put on after the clear coat and are vinyl?

I need both gold tank emblems and one good sidecover emblem. They seem to be 3-4 weeks out at ReproductionDecals.com. I emailed our Aussie friends at BadgeReplicas.com/au but no response yet.

As soon as I get my carbs put back on I'll be getting a pic of it Catatonic, with your windshield!

I know Brian at BadgeReplicas. I have been working with him for about a year now on getting the badges replicated for the 78/79 Standards. I sent him a couple of badges from the 78 model and I expect they will be done soon. That's a good deal on that paint job. My paint job on my 78 cost me 600 but it was custom and is flawless. I might have to get the name of that shop since my office is just about in Katy.

That tank looks nice. Not too bad of a price IMHO.

Not quite as clean as yours Foreda, yet... But dirty as it was, I set the tank and side covers on it for a pic...didn't have my duster handy.

Give it to me for about a week and I can make it look like mine. Is that a Special seat?

It's an 80, Original seat and right side cover. The left was missing and I found a replacement. Right side cover has the slots it mounts with, the left has the holes. Original owner had it sitting in his storage for years. I think I have just over 5kmi on it now.

Did the 80 have the cowling in the back? I can't tell in the picture.
