  • Problem With Clutch- Please Help

Well I noticed that my clutch was starting to slip when I would get on it at low RPM's so I decided to do the cluch thing. I printed Topcat's tutorial and followed it step by step. Put it all back together with new friction plates, an additional steel plate and new heavy duty springs. Everything went together smoothly until I went to put the clutch basket back on. I had a problem getting the basket to mesh with the Oil Pump Idle Gear. Long story short, I finally got it in and buttoned it up. Took it out for a 30 mile drive and everything seemed ok. The next day I went to take it for a ride, got on the highway and at about 60mph the red oil pressure light came on. I immediately put it into neutral and coasted off the offramp and into a parking lot. I had it shut down within probably 10 seconds. Trailored it home, took it back apart and found that I had broke off a section of the idler gear. No other damage. I removed the oil pan to look for metal and to retrieve the broken off piece. I am in dire need of a Oil Pump Idle Gear!!! I did a cross check and all XS1100 and XJ1100 use the exact same gear. Does anybody have one that they can live without?? PM me and tell me what you want, short of my first born. I need to ride!!
