  • 80G Carb needles

After getting my #1 carb float post repaired I figured I'd re-install them.
It had a low end stutter that I could not get out. So I removed all of the needles from the slides and found that It had 2 different sets between 1/2 & 3/4 and also different main jets 115's on 1/4 and 120's on 2/3.

I finally found the problem today looking at the needles. When I got the bike it looked like it had a fire in the airbox which burned it up some along with 2 of the air to carb boots. When I removed the needles I found #3 had melted the clip into the plastic spacer/keeper 1.3mm and made it run leaner on that cylinder.

I figure the needles may be original as it's only got 5kmi on the clock but got swapped around by the PO. I cant find any thing saying that it had different needles. Only different main jets.
My question is which needles in which carbs? I have 2-5IZ7's and 2-5GL16's.
Looking at this needle spec sheet(thanks 3Phase) They are a little different in length and taper. Needle Specs

    Any thoughts ?

The richer needles (whichever they are) would go in the center cylinders.

This was done for the same reason some bikes have different jets in the center carbs, to help cool the center cylinders. This has been found to have no value, so most just put all 4 carbs the same.

I am using the 5Ix11 needles (in that chart) from Mikes XS.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...
