In the past couple of days I've noticed that my bike started to give off some squeaks when I hit the throttle. It almost sounds like belts on a car. It only happens when I ride and hit the throttle not while in neutral. If anyone can offer a theory, I would highly appreciate it...

Maybe dragging brakes? The extra pressure put on the calipers when accellerating might cause them to vibrate and squeek instead of just dragging silently. I dunno... JAT.1980 XS850SG - Sold

When is the last time you had the back wheel off and greased the splines of the driveshaft? Checked your fluids in the drives? Does it sound like it's coming from the front or back? If in the front, sometimes exhaust leaks sound like that and would match up to only doing it under load.
If you think it might be a brake, ride it a bit, then stop by NOT using that brake.. then quickly tap the suspect rotor (QUICKLY as it may be extremely hot). If it's not hot, you don't have a brake dragging.

Thanks for the info, guys. Both of those may be suspect. I had a problem when I first purchased the bike with the front rotor locking up until you tap it with a hammer. I took it to the bike shop back in Philly (which is where I had the bike before Cali.) and they rebuilt the front rotor. But lately my pads have been crying a bit when I brake. So, the brakes do need some new pads at least. I just hope that the front caliper is not being a bastard again.
The exhaust is also suspect. I just put on a new(used) exhaust system which had couple of the seal rings missing. I was eager to put it on due to my old exhaust system blowing a giant hole right next to my left foot peg and shooting exhaust gas right up my pant leg when I rode. But, in a rush, I neglected to put the new rings on that I just got.
So I guess I'll start with the exhaust and work my way to the brakes. BTW, I guess I should also grease the drive shaft splines, since it seems to happen only when I drop it into gear.
