      Well Well Well

So after about two weeks of running perfectly, (except putting a little too much oil in) I went out this morning and smelled a little gas and noticed gas had been oozing out the left side of my airbox. It did not seem like a huge amount. THere was just a white film where it had and it was just dripping out some. Went to start it and it was flooded, but this time I was determined and finally got it going after 20 sec. of cranking. After I started it it ran fine and did not overflow, even drove it too work...faith I know. The petcocks were in the 'off' position, yet not much gas leaked out in the big scheme of things, I checked the tank and it was still full.

Why would this be happening two weeks apart when I have been riding the bike quite a bit? I mean if it was leaking petcocks, octy and floats, and all three then wouldnt it be happening all the time? or more consistently??

Could there be this much debris clogging up the valve seats? O well I am still driving it this week to my retreat. For better or for worse!

I had almost the exact same thing happening to me. It would be running great, then I park it, and about 1/4-1/2 cup of fuel would pour out the airbox, and stop. It even happened while I was on the side stand, idling at an ATM machine!

I took the carbs out this last weekend and did a thorough cleaning, and the problem has stopped. I made sure to remove EVERYTHING that could be removed, and it actually runs better now than it did before.

Something tells me the fuel that was pouring out was everything after the octy (which I tested, and is sealing properly), and was leaking because of a tiny piece of junk at the float valve.
