  • No Vin Just a Metal Stamp! Need help!!

    So it appears that "Ol Betsy" only has a metal stamp no vin. Can anybody make out on this bike? Its a california stamp from the DMV & has 2 sets of digits:

    71352CA (1ST ROW)

    301352 (2ND ROW)

    Need help to identify what model she is. thanks fellas!

    I'm assuming no sticker on the left side of the steering head?

    Can the DMV do a search as to title/paperwork?

    There's a stamp on the right side of the motor near the oil fill hole. Might not match the frame, but could be a start

      Thanks Bud!! Turns out the 2 i have are '79 XS1100SF's!! thanks again!

      I stumbled across www.shopschops.blogspot.com pretty awesome stuff! u might have seen it b4, just thought i might share it with you!

        Oh yeah! I e-mail Shop all the time. He's over in Iraq last I knew. I've got a link to his site on my page. His site was pretty much what inspired me to do what I'm doing. I've probably read that entire site 10 times by now. He's pretty much told me to avoid shortcuts because every one comes back to bite you in the azz. I think his handle on here is tbishop11.
