  • Quick question...

A buddy's XJ just quit him and he's trying to track it down. They think it mught be the TCI, but they don't have another 10m unit there. Will the 2H7 unit work at all to see if they can get fire? Will it mess anything up to try this? Need an answer pretty quick please if you know for sure.

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

Yeah, it'll work in a pinch, but the plug pinouts are different. You can re-pin the connectors to make it work. There is a post about that here somewhere.

      try these

Not to sound too easy, but I have hit my xj kill switch, its easy to switch off and I felt like a moron after finally diagnosing it. Maybe check for spark at the plug first, then the kill switch,, then the sidestand switch, then the tipover switch, then if no spark at that point,,,,,keep going through the coils, etc. The ignition boxes are pretty much indestructible unless the owner shorted out doing elec. work or welding on the frame without precautions. Anyway,,,,hope its something easy. Mike in S.Diego
