140/90-16 rear tire

Just wanted to confirm if a 140/90-16 tire fits ok with no problems on the rear (of a 79 Special).

I got a 130/90/16 on mine and it's very close. Try it and let us know!

On most bikes, a 140 will rub the shaft side of the swingarm. It is possible to add washers to the drive cog unit on the rim, to move the wheel to the right, but this makes the rear tire out of line with the frame.
