  • Tire size question

Dang! I just received a new Spitfire for
my XJ and I realize now that I ordered the wrong size. I just typed the wrong
part no. in and didn't check carefully.

    I've always used 100/90-19 (3.25/3.50)
    and I have a 110/90-19 ((3.75/4.00).
Can I use this tire on the front? My
main concerns are clearance and speedo
changes. Any thing else to consider?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Since they're both 90 in height, don't worry. If it goes on and spins freely, don't worry. Be careful on the corners at first, might handle a bit differently... maybe better, maybe worse.
Let us know on the results.

My 81 Special has the 110-90-19 on it. Doesn't appear to handle any different than the 100-90-19 on my 78 Standard.

on next week sometime. I'll let you know
        how it comes out.

          tires size

Be careful of rubbing too. i went from 100/90x19 to 110/90x19 on my '79 XS11 standard and i'm getting alittle rubbing from wind force after 45 mph.

And YES, the front end will feel weird when you take your turns. that front tire is 1/2" to 3/4" wider and may have a little wobble feel.

            Big Rubber needs brace!!!

I went to 110/90/19 dunlop CruiseMax and I thought it felt a little slow responding at first but after installing my T-KAT fork brace the combo felt quite good as far as bad road feel and long cracks in the asphalt were concerned. It fit very close to the fender but no problems. Mud mixed with gravel could be a problem tho.
