  • front fork adjustment screw?

Is there an adjustment on the front forks of a 78 standard? When I was filling my frontforks with oil I noticed that there is a flathead screw in the middle of the bolt cap and it looks like an adjustment screw that can be turned inward on the springs and adjusted . I've gone thru the manual and can't find any info on it. Looking at the parts manual doesn't give me any info on it either. Anyone have any ideas?

It's a 3 position spring preload adjustment screw. Turn right to increase preload, left to decrease.

Ok I found it in the posts in this section. But it only showed up in the search for this section and not 'all' sections.

      Thanks!

There are set cams, kind of like n the rear shocks. You have to push in the adjustment screw before turning it.
