  • Exhaust Pipe Rust

I need some suggestions on what to do about rust on my exhaust pipes. This appears to be a cosmetic issue only. Is there some type of paint I can use that will be resistant to the heat? OR, I have seen a wrap that can be put around the pipes. The wrap would make the pipe look better and also help prevent any burns.
What type of paint and where to get it and what type of wrap and where can it be purchased?
    Any and all suggestions welcome.

    Jet coat

You can send them to get ceramic coated.

Or you can get them bead blasted and buy the coating from the Eastwood and spray them yourself.

depends on how much time and money you want to spend.

Jet-Hot coating is OK, just not something I'd prefer
These headers were badly pitted. So bad that I used a hand grinder to help cut down the pits so I would not be filing and sanding em till next year. As it was I spent about 10 hours on em.
ALL rust (including cross over etc.) was removed.
Surface rust will come right off with steel wool.
Minor pitting will come off with a wire wheel.
Heavy pitting with a LITTLE pre-grinding, filing, then sanding out the file marks

Of course the chrome is now FUBR...
With another 5 or so hours work I could have sanded then polished them good enough to be re-chromed.

First thought was to have them powder coated black with 1,000/1,200 degree stuff.
Second thought was that I didn’t have any money to do it , so I settled for using 1,200 degree paint. Have yet to fire up the engine (maybe this weekend).
