      Getty,

Did you pay the asking price of $69.95 or did you give him a offer he could not refuse? lol.

I bought a set. Yet to install. Look great. I too puzzled over the lack of a long bolt. Thought I'd use the old one over. Why not? BTW, the guy is easy to do business with, and he wants good feedback.

Paid the asking price. He had them listed a bit different at the time. I had to email him after placing the order to make sure they were for a SG. He said good thing I did because he would have shipped the standards. The auction you posted listed them for a special so you should be ok.

I will look into the evaluations.

These shouldn't be much trouble since I won't be making anything, just packing and shipping as they sell.

I find that for every 3 new products I try to make, I get one to market in a reasonable amount of time, one other is moved to the back burner and the last one is scrapped. More money, machine tools and a bigger shop would change the ratio...

Well I got the braided stainless rear hose I ordered and got around to installing it today. My first impression was nice quality. I was a little concerned that the ends are crimped on and cannot be loosened and rotated but that didn't seem to be a problem. The ends were orientated correctly to bolt up to the rear master cylinder and to the caliper.

The line also came with a couple of plated banjo bolts and a full set of copper washers. One of the bolts had the wrong thread pitch and since I didn't really expect the line to come with new bolts, I just reused the one of the old ones. I put the shinny new bolt at the caliper end since it could be seen.

The only real problem was the line is a little too long and rubs the swing arm when routed through the original hose routing clips. The line is plastic coated so this probably isn't going to be a problem but I'd prefer it if the line were an inch or so shorter.

All in all I think it was a good deal and I'll probably will be getting a set for my other bike if I ever get it on the road.

I don't think it's too likely I will be carrying these but other than the high shipping from Canada, they're a bargain...

Sorry. I got away from this post for a while. I thought I had the sellers message in a folder. Guess not.
With out that all I can be sure of is that the seller was from the LA basin in Ca.

My motorcycle budget got thin so I had to wait and his coms were deleted after 30 days I think.

Sorry. I'll keep watch for him and post if I see him. There were two actually and both were fron SOCAL.

One on e-bay is rtperformance118. The other was not....

Not much help but it might be worth a phone call.

I now have a set from ebay's coastguard 1975 and a set from cyclebrakes.com. The set from ebay look like I will be having a problem with 3fittings not being angled right and possibly length issues. The other thing is the fittings appear to be at the wrong angle to each other as well. I may have to curl the hoses in ways I do not want to in order to use them. Still too early to tell as I am rebuilding the calipers etc now. Holding them in place does not look promising though.
The set I bought from Cyclebrakes was far superior in every way. They are adjustable in case they do not line up , come in colors, and can be custom ordered as well as they came with the correct banjo bolts. The guys I dealt with there were very helpful. They shipped same day as I ordered. On a different purchase I ordered brakes for two different yamahas and they phoned me before shipping to make sure I had not made a mistake. I wish every seller had this much integrity.
The big difference was in the price as cyclebrakes was about double the price to me (shipping etc all in) compared to the ebay ones. I know I will spend the extra bucks next one and get em from cyclebrakes. To me there is no real comparison IMHO.

Done this on both my Standard and Special, bought a 17" stainless line from MikesXS for $24 and replaced just the upper MC to junction block line. Makes the lever much stiffer, but not so much as I'd have to re-learn the braking. Good improvement and a cheap fix.

HI GUY'S THE AUTO SHOP I WORK AT GOT A BRAKE HOSE MAKING MACHINE IN SO I THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE SOME STAINLESS ONE'S TOOK THE OLD ONES OF AND USED THEM A TEMPLATE TO EXACT LENGTH AND ANGLES AS ORIGINAL. What a mistake that was looked good when i made them fitting was not that good length was not quite long enough??eh!(same as old ones) also the angle of the fittings was the wrong way round (fogot the rubber ones can be bent and twisted slightly to fit on caliper. STAINLESS DOES NOT TWISTany way i fitted them with the fitting facing up toward the fork instead of in the holder on the caliper they have not moved or loosened at all also replaced piston and seals and used SPEED BLEEDERS "wow " these things are the best invention ever to bleed brakes on your own. brakes work very well now.
