  • Grab Bar ..........FINALLY!!!!

Well, while I was away in MN fishing it came. I had forgot all about it. That is untill I had came home a week later and the next morning my wife had set it out on the living room floor for me to find. I was like a 10 year old at Christmas!!! It was still in the box so just imagine all the anxiety that I was going thru. I had bought it on E-bay for only 38 bucks so I was wondering would it even be worth using? Man it was PERFECT! the only part I really needed for my 79 special. What was funny was that 2 months earlier I had lost an auction for the same part by....$1. I had set my limit at $100 and left town only to find it wasn't enough. Lesson learned. On this one I waited untill the last day and started my bid , it was only $5 but that was all it took to get others going too. only thing was I was prepared to pay a LOT more if I had to,after all I got VISA!!!Funny how it worked out. You guys know that bar is a 1 year only thing and for some strange reason they all got took off and replaced with sissy bars. Now to me my bike looks way more cool. and it was CHEAP! I really can't Imagine why people are selling those bikes in pieces on e-bay but I'm sure glad for it on this day. I can now grab ahold of it and pull my bike sideways to fit tight in places where I had to jockey it before. A real neat thing to have sorta like a centerstand, you either want it or you don't. I"m sure if my wife knew how much I loved just this one stupid part she would think I was even sicker than she thought. I even started that stopping and staring at the bike thing all over again so bad I had to take it back to my house from the shop just so I could make a living! Now I'm already thinkin' about those black and chrome shocks......................Garry.........P.S. does anybody else" got it " this bad? Lets hear about it! I doubt it'll help though.

    I can relate!

I feel that way ANYTIME I get a new part for my 78 Standard. Since I purchased the bike.... I have ordered or auctioned for a side cover, new tank badges, a fusebox, signals and mounts and a cafe style sport fairing. I'm finally getting the bike looking the way I want it. But I am getting a little tired of waiting for the fusebox from Centech.... my order was confirmed nearly 2 weeks ago.

I went through the same thing with my special. I was pretty excited when I got my grab bar off Ebay. It does add nicely to the lines of the bike. Ebay is crazy, one time you'll see something go for alot, and another time you'll see the same item go for alot less. Sounds like you got the good end of that deal.
