Can somebody tell me how and where to measure fork tubes from. I am aquiring a good pair of tubes, but they are to short to fit my XS1100. I just want to identify them as to fit, and offer them up.

Were they sold to you as XS11 fork tubes?
If they are the right diameter but too short for your LG they could be from a Standard.
If they are thinner and shorter they could be for a smaller XS series bike.

Measure overall length anf endcap to axle (if different, like our specials). Measure the diameter where it fits in the triple-tree. The diameter of the axle holders and whether they are cap, pinch bolt, or threaded to hold the axle. then measuer the amount of travel (compressed to extended)Pat Kelly

Thanks folks, i'll measure them up. They were ordered for a 1980 xs1100 MNS, but they were to short. I'll get them measured up, and post my measurements.1980 XS1100LG Midnight
