  • Help: Carb Leak

I found a leak on the fuel nipple that goes between Carb #1 & #2. It seems not want to seat tightly and gas sprays either from 1 or from 2 or both, so it appears the nipple is loose or worn.

Any ideas to fix problem, or do I have to replace this nipple?

    Thanks,

    Sam

Sounds like you either have a broken T which will need replaced, or bad seals. IF ti is bad seals, then there are several ways to fix them in threads on here. USe the search function for Fuel Tee and see what you find. Good luck!

They are selling brass tees on ebay, but they are about $40 a piece.

        Not Fatal!!

        One option:

        or another...

will fix that leaking fuel Tee.

You'll have to break the bank of carbs apart to do the repair.

I looked up the options of buying a new Tee, but dang!, they can be expensive ($15 to $50 plus S&H and taxes). I dug around the garage and found my box of an old carb bank, I took off my parts bike a while back. The bank looked pretty rotten, but I thought at least I can practice taking the carbs apart, before I start on the good one.

The fuel tee from the spare carbs, actually looked in better condition than the working carbs. I have some "rubber rejuvenator" wipes made by Tech Spray. I wiped the Tee with that and reinstalled. WHALA! Everything is good.

I wonder if the rejuv wipes would have done any good for my original Tee. This maybe an option for someone to try, before buying a new Tee. These wipes, can be bought at a computer or electronics store, maybe Wal-Mart or Fry's for a couple dollars. Tomorrow, I'll put the carbs back on and hope to be on the road Monday morning to work.

Boy it's hot here, not even a breeze. Our 100 deg heat came late in August.

Thanks to all for the replies,
