  • Alternator heat

Is it natural for the alternator to get kind of hot? I had my bike going for maybe 7 minutes and it was warm. Not super hot or anything but just warm...

I just wanted to check, because if I am going to be riding it for longer than 7 minutes I want to make sure it doesn't fry the new wiring I spent forever doing!

It's attached to the crank case, of course it's going to get hot. The good thing about that is on a cold day you can put your gloved hand there at a stop to warm your fingers...
