  • To ping or not to ping?

When ever its hot out my bike has a tendency to ping at hiway speeds under full throttle application .Using 91-92 octane gas seems to lesson the effects but still pings.only does this out on hiway.fuel milage is pretty consistent33-35 mpg.No engine mods other than dyna coils with plug gap at 035'' and uni air filter.bike starts and runs very good for 26k.doesnt look like timing has ever been adjusted from factory specs. Don't have any hesitation or power lag motor pulls hard to red line . Not sure what else could be causing this carbueration? carbon buildup. Carbs were proffesionally cleaned and adjusted last summer.could carbs be causing at WOT.did notice that exhaust pipes bluing more than normal.Or is this just aliment of these bikes.Any input would be appreciated.
when you want something bad enough, don't let anything stand in your way, and don't take "no" for an answer. EVER

Sounds like your not getting enough fuel at high end man. try getting a little richer mixture. I'll say this, atleast you can hear your engine at HY speeds. I can't over the wind on my fairing and exhaust(running HD mufflers).
