The great windshield debate

I have an 82 xj with those bloody square bars. I am looking for a decent looking windscreen. all the ones i have found so far require the square bar mount kit. I have a small handle bar mount shield on my sr650 kaw and the support rods tend to bug me. I really like the memphis shade shields that bolt directly to the forks. has anyone found a shield that mounts in this fashion for the xj. if not what would be the best recomendation for a convential mount shield

Daryl, did you have a thread on this earlier? Carolyne put a Spitfire I think on her XJ, looks fine, and the hardware kit that came with easily mounted just 'inside' her grips - she had to move one of the grips maybe 1/8", maybe even less. IIRC, it was made by Slipstream.

I think you've found your own answer - go for the Memphis Shades unit. Did you catch the picture I posted the other day of one of SWMBO's previous rides?



I don't think that one was a genuine Memphis Shades unit, but rather a knock-off we picked up somewhere along the way.
