  • Runs GREAT!!!

I put this in the old thread but I think it might be overlooked.
    Just wanted to thank everybody.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Thanks to all!
My bike was idling at 200/300 RPM as smooth as silk. The tach barely moved!
After syncing I adjusted it to about 800 RPM and it responds perfectly. See pics of the HIGHLY accurate home made syncronizer at my photobucket album (I slightly improved on the original idea as is on this site). I have pics of the bike and my plating bench there also. Will post more after the final touches this next week.

      Thanks Bug,

But why?? I know that 1000 - 1100 is the recommended range but I always thought that some would run faster and some slower depending on how smooth they ran. Is there a benefit I am missing? This bike was running smooth at less than the tach could read. It makes HD's sound like they are missing on 1 1/2 cylinders. Absolutely no miss, studder or shake on the stock plugs. It was running a little richer than I wanted so I installed E3 plugs to test. Throttle response at 600 RPM was great but I increased it to 800 just in case.

It helps with your charging system for one. If you're running to low an RPM, you're not creating as much juice as you're using.
