  • cam chain source

I looked on partsnmore's site and did not see one.
    Bikebandit wants $90.
I know I've seen people on here say where to get one.I cant find those posts now though.
Can someone point me to a good reasonable source?
Also does a gasket kit come with the valve cover gasket?
The kits I see on ebay dont look like there is a valve cover gasket. But it is hard to see with everything jumbled in the packages.
    Thanks Rick

Don't know how you missed it..

    https://www.partsnmore.com/cat_index...ategory=engine

You don't need the master link listed below it.. one comes in the box with the chain.. but you could have it as a "Just in case".. if you somehow mess up the one it comes with on the install.

They are also the best bet for your gasket sets. Just a tip... The XJ and the XS gasket sets are the same with the exception of the head gasket.. which the XJ's has some extra material to incorporate the YICS tubes behind the head that can be easily trimmed with scissors. The XJ gasket set is $12 cheaper than the XS.. and yes, both have the valve cover gasket in them. These kits also have a gasket for the middle drive that most other kits don't include.

You can also order just the valve cover gasket on partsnmore.

      Hey:
I have seen cam chain prices from 20 something to eighty something.
      what do you guys think?
I was ready to buy the one on parts n moore but; they are out of stock.
I have heard guys mentioning that they get some noise from the chain I have found this one claiming to be a silent roller chain.

      Has anyone used it?
Does anyone know if the cam chain tool sold from Mikes XS can be used on the XS1100.

Also gasket sets Is the Athena set worth the extra bucks

      TIA

I got my cam chain, without a master link, from ebay. It was $23.00! You can have ANY motorcycle shop order it from their catalog for about $28.00.

The Partsnmore gasket sets are made from the original supplier of OEM gaskets for Yamaha and are excellent quality. Don't know why you'd want to spend more?
