  • Choke assembly question.

    Putting the carbs together on my 81 xs1100 and two of the little claws that fit on the choke rod seem to be bent. Are these right? If so which order to they go on.

    You are correct. They are bent. All the bends should be 90 degrees. Bend them back, and they are all the same, IIRC, so it doesn't matter what order they go in.

        Damon,

        Hopefully when you pulled that rod out you saw the little ball bearing and spring behind the rod on no 1 and no 4 carbs. If you miss those when you put your assembly back together, your choke will not stay out.

          The ball and spring is NEEDED in the#1 carb, but NOT in #4. The grooves are not cut in the rod for the #4 location.
