I cant find a used master cylinder for my 80 SG off of e-bay so i was wondering-i have access to a ZRX master cylinder-do you think that would work?I cant see why not.Do you know of any other model that might fit?I see that the master cylinder on my bike now has the brake lever and mirror mount built into it.

Unless you have SS lines, I wouldn't use one with a bore smaller than 5/8. Stock was 11/16.

Oh, well you MIGHT be able to get away with something with a 1/2 bore, but I'm not making any promises.

I bought a whole new (used) front brake system on eBay.
                http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

My front brakes are dragging on both sides if I hit my front brakes, so I bought the set above and flushed and installed the other master cylinder. everything was fine for a week and now it's dragging again. I dont want to rebuild the MC cause the plastic resevoirs look like crap. I want to buy the MC linked above and rebuild and paint a set of calipers.

will the 78 calipers I bought fit an 81H? (I'd like to rebuild them while the bike is still commuting me to work)
how and where do I get SS lines and the boots at the end of the lines? what leangth and all that.
I'm hoping to do a total swap in one afternoon when everything is done and the paint is dry.

to get front/rear lines, pads, caliper rebuild kits and the MC looks close to $300. maybe I'll get the MC and slowly do the rest in increments. I do like that HEL site. they sold me and they r street legal.

this looks like an OEM replacement. I wonder if it is the same? it sells parts for our MC right under it so I assume it's the original style.

yeah, I linked that on msg #2 but I saw the OEM and figured if someone thought it was worth an extra $90 to keep the original look, they might be interested.

I'm going with the cheap one. I would rebuild one of the two MCs I got if I could buy a clean plastic reservoir. mine looks 30 years old.
