    This listing says it's a '79 seat, but isn't it actually a 78 seat?

    that seat fits a 78 or 79 standard xs1100

      I'd think twice with the rust on the bottom of the pan being so extensive. I've got a '78-'79 Standard seat here that looks about the same, but the pan is trashed. Totally rusted out where the seat cover meets the pan.

        I was more interested in the 'style'. I am going to need one, at some point, and wanted to make sure I knew what I was looking at.

        When I first looked at this bike I couldn't figure out why the TCI was sticking out behind the seat, until I realized that the '78 should have the plastic cowl behind the seat.

          That's also not the factory cover and the grab strap is missing.
