  • Green Coils Mikes XS

Been searching for the last 45 minutes. I thought I've read this before.

2- Mikes XS green coils, 4 - 5k ohm caps, and 4 - wires are on there way in from Mikes XS. Do I need the ballast resistor?

    Dude

I dont think so .If your bike has one bypass it by plugging one plug into the other .

The Ballast Resistor is to be removed. The coils will not get the proper voltage if used. Like Axel said just remove it and plug the two wires together. I suggest wrapping it in electrical tape also so it does not come appart on ya and short out.

Definitely bypass the resistor. I didn't at first and it ran, but it ran like crap.
I know this, because Tyler knows this.

Thanks guys! I removed it. Coils and new tires should be in today. Gaped plugs at .034

Had one bent rotor. 25$ to fix at Woody's Wheel Works here in Denver.

Filled bars with silicone(interested to see if it improves... cant hurt anything) Ordered the SS Brake Lines off ebay (next week upgrade)

This all came about when I thought I wanted a bike built in the 21st century. After riding many bikes, I decided my XS1100 is perfect. No new bike for me.
