  • XJ/XS Exhaust Swap

    Say,
Can anybody tell me if you can put a XJ1100 Exhaust on an XS1100 ?
I know where I can get an XJ Exhaust dirt cheap...but I don't need another doorstop.
    Please advise, Thanks, Steve

The headers will fit, but the brackets on the XJ mufflers won't line up with the stock XS brackets. The XJ ones are about 1-1/2 inches farther forward than the XS. You may be able to fabricate new brackets. The swap would not be a bolt-on job.

Incidently, it is easier to put an XS system on an XJ...I did this with a Jardine 4 into 2 system, cut the header pipes by 1-1/2 inches to move the muffler forward, and just had to drop an extension down from the original XJ bracket to the Jardine bracket.

      XJ / XS Exhaust Swap

      Hello Again,
I guess this will be easier than I thought, the system I can get is a 4 into 1...which means I'll only have one bracket to build.
And I kinda like the "SuperTrapp" look...
      Thanks for the info
