If I had the second "fixer up" bike I am looking for this would be perfect.

I was sooo close to clicking buy now, for the last 2 hours...then I realized even if it is such a great deal, how do I know the guy that originally bought it painted the inside before running it? Not such a good deal if it rusts through in a few years :/

FYI: Although this system is advertised to fit on a Standard or a Special XS1100, it really only fits on the Special. I purchased this header for my "F" and had to do some serious mods to get it to go on. I wrote a message to Jardine about it but never heard back.

The canister muffler is rather loud and gets louder as it breaks in (or down). I ran this canister for 20k mile before I switched it out (with some custom fabrication) to a R6 muffler and just recently to a titanium R1 muffler.

I don’t know about the rust out issue. I didn’t paint the inside of mine and it has no rust inside after 30K miles in 4 years. I take it apart once a year to give it a new external paint job (good ‘ol BBQ paint). I suppose it has a lot to do with how much the bike is used.

The header is worth $125 (IMHO). I was very tempted to snatch it up, but already have two. This would be a good header for a custom 4:1 exhaust project or to bolt on a Special that needs something to get it on the road.
