  • What mods are on your bike?

It's tough if not impossible to keep a 30 year-old bike bone stock (filters and tires not included).
    Here's what I've done on my bike(s)

    1978 XS1100E
    Progressive fork springs
    Tkat fork brace
    drilled brake rotors
    SS brake lines
    PnM front master cylinder
    Dyna Coils
Jardine 'spagetti' 4 into 2 exhaust
    K&N airfilter (in airbox)
    rejetted accordingly
    LED tail/brake light
converted rear turnsignals to running/turn lights
    6 LED accent lights
    Auxillary tail/brake light on trunk
    Venture 6.5 gallon fuel tank
fog lights (mounted on engine guards)
    Lockhart oil cooler

    1980 XS1100LG
    T Kat forkbrace
    PnM front brake master cylinder
    air fork crossover tube
    Superbike sport handlebars
    Maier sport fairing
unknown 4 into 1 exhaust (I think it's an RC Engineering)
    SuperTrapp baffle with 10 discs
    K&N airfilter (in airbox)
    Weisco 1196 big-bore kit
    rejetted accordingly
    quick-release seat clamps
    XS750 speedometer (140MPH)
    removed the octopus

I'm sure I've missed some things. There are more things I'd like to do, particularly on the LG.
Put the E tank on the LG (want a different Special seat to do this). SS brake hoses for the LG. Exhaust mod for the LG. Replace the LG head (PO did a crappy porting) with a 78 or 79 head (have one of each ready to go).
    Paint both bikes.
    How about you?

Just a few mods to make the Venturer 1100 venture farther in comfort: TKat fork brace, vista-cruise, Alpine CD/Polk all-weather audio, Corbin tour seat, road pegs and Yamaha matching tail trunk put on back in 81. All rest is factory stock, exhaust, air box, jetting, etc.
81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

            Not much for me:

            Added a Vetter Fairing
            Added a Luggage rack/back rest
            Adding a Vetter Trunk
            New fuse block
Main jets are the same all the way across (only because I didn't know any better when I replaced them)
Center stand has been removed (by a PO)

Other than replacing the consumables, everything else is stock or OEM replacements.
I will be adding a set of Vetter Hard bags as soon as I can locate a mounting bracket (and be able to afford it), and I need to re-cover the seat. The tank could use a new coat of paint and a small dent removal too.
            1980 XS850SG - Sold
            1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

                              My extensive mods

                              New Battery
                              Changed the oil.
                              Bolt on road pegs.

Before the summer is out, I am adding hard bags and a adjustable backrest. Also a new windshield is needed. Like the one I saw at MOM on John's ride. Going to get one for me.

Now as to the winter project, The CraZy TrainZZ is gonna take after Montreaux's chopped and dropped. Thinking along the lines of a 50's style of chopped, dropped, and bobbed. Solo seat, single speedo , drag bars....... hmmm the possibilities are endless here. Kinda wanting a retro street fighter.

                              I am my inner child!!

I have no idea how you managed to make that connection within your brain, but I applaud whatever cellular mutation just took place.
