    Owner is a broker

I have been negotiating with the owner. He does not know if it even runs. I asked him if he could do a compressrion test for me and said he would do it for $70 bucks. I offered him a $1000 for it and he came back to $1100. Sent him a message back telling him I don't even know if it will turn over still my best offer $1000 and I will not go higher. It will cost me at least $300+ to go and pick it up!! I would like to add a MNS to my stable, but I figure this one will be very expensive to rebuild to my obessive compulsive expectations.
PS.. He tells me the dent in the tank happened in a U-Haul trailer. You gotta hate that!!

      Panel beating ...

as they call it in UK ... may be necessary if you can't find another cherry tank.

the dent in the tank happened in a U-Haul trailer. You gotta hate that
That much is believable considering the odd shape and position of the dent and that there seems to be no other collateral damage

        mns

my 2 cents is that i would have to hear it run to go over 700 bucks. if i could i would try to find one running unless you were going to go through the engine. if that gas tank had gas in it all those years and it leaked into just one of the cylinders it would corrode them walls and if it did run it wear out very quick. looks like a good parts bike to me 4-5 hun. bucks.

$70 bucks for a compression test?! Shouldn't that be his cost of doing business? On the tank - A Pops-a-dent (they actually work pretty well) and a little bondo should fix it. I've also heard tell of special gas caps that allow you to introduce high pressure air into the tank to pop tents. Not sure that's a great idea on an old tank though - might pop some other stuff too.

Well nuthin new here..the bike is overpriced considering its condition...MNS or not...I wouldn't go over $750-$800 for it. I'd look around a little more...take your time something else always pops up
