  • Apex Brake lines

I found some Apex Stainless Steel brake lines for $70, 3 fronts and 1 rear, before I bought them I thought I'd check. What is your opinion on them?

That's what I am running on my bike and they work just fine. I would get plastic coated lines though if they sell the non-coated ones.

Just be careful for a few rides after the install. They will be much touchier. I had to re-learn the brakes on mine.

There are some on ebay right now
Don't know what kind they are, but the price is 70 dollars for all 4 lines
bolts and washers. Which to me sounds like a great deal

Are the hoses on the standard and specials the same length?

The hose from the handle bar to the triple tree is longer on the special but I don't know how much longer.

Did they work? I want to order a set. Seems like a deal that is too good to be true. I'm hoping you say they are great!

            Fred from Downunder

            hey guys,
I looked at the ones on ebay just now but they are listed to only fit '79 to '81models. Why woudn't they fit my 1978E.

If they only fit the '79 to '81, they MAY be for the "Specials". The '78 is a "Standard", and the front brake lines are different.

I bought a set a couple of weeks ago from the guy on ebay. The auction listing was for a special but they custom made the upper front brake line to fit a standard and sold them to me for the same price. I haven't installed them yet but they look right, the price was right and the customer service was very good. The lines have a clear plastic coating, BTW
