    Hi guys,
I just changed the air filter on my 80sg and noticed a little rubber cap hanging down under the air box at the back, it has two wires going into it and it forms what looks like a little clamp out of the leads in the cap. If anyone could please tell me where it's supposed to connect to I'd greatly appreciate it. The worst part is it looks really familiar like I should know what it's for, but I can't remember or figure it out as there's no obvious place for it to go.

    Thanks.

Yeah... Does the brake light come on when you press the pedal? Seems a bit strange shaped for that, but it's possible, based on location.

I'm thinking just looking at the connector that it goes on the starter solenoid but those 2 black thin wires look to be something else.

That is the rear brake light switch! A new one should be about $7 from georgefix on ebay. I know, I've just ordered one to replace one on my bike that just quit.
