    Bargain - Carb Manifolds online

    Hi all

    While looking for carb / cylinder manifolds for my XS, I came across a site in the uk:

    - now, if you look through the dropdown for XS11 (any year), they come back as :

    20.99 (that's pounds).

    I assumed that was the price each, so I fired off an email to them - nope, it's the price for a *SET* ! (yes, they're a 'real' retailer - one of the biggest spares places in the UK)

    - wasn't sure if this was the correct forum to post this on, but knew some of you would be interested (the site can quote prices in dollars, so I'm guessing they ship worldwide) - mods, feel free to move this if in the wrong place

    The price looks good until you add shipping, to aus its 65 pounds
    all up about $170.00Aud or to send to the US about $140Usd.
    Pity tho, would definately be a bargain tho if you lived on that side of the pond.

      M&P usually quote shipping on an "up to 25 kilos" basis so those shipping costs might well come down if you bundled a few sets together.

      Or have them sent through to a friendly soul in the UK who will then post them on to you and only charge the postage

        Good idea. If several members went together the shipping would be combined.

          JFYI... I thought the prices were too good to be true... Way too low (under about $90 for new).

          There's a currency converter in the top right if you add it to a "cart" form(basket as referred to by them). Making them $34.63 USD. Shipping is a whopping $107.25 USD. Bringing the total in to around $141.88 USD.

          NOT A GOOD DEAL, haha.

            Agreed.. if buying alone. That's why it was mentioned to gang up and get an order. That shipping price, if not mistaken, was for up to 25 kilos.. or over 50 pounds. You could ship a LOT of carb boots before you reached 50 lbs.!

            My question is.. how much is the shipping across the pond if someone were to accept a bulk shipment of them?

              Hey - at least there's something cheap on this side of the pond for a change :-)

              Honestly though - I can find out from work how much it would cost to ship a box load to the US - we have good deals with couriers at work (a multi national company) so if I could get some idea of interest (and someone to ship to in the US), maybe we could setup our own supply chain ! :-)

                      Any of them

                      A set of these Carb / Cylinder Engine joints contains 2 left joints and 2 right joints.

                      All XS11 models (Standard, Special, Sport[RH & 5K7] and European [2H9 & 3X0]) and the XJ1100 use the same joints.

                          just a question her but how come nobody hase machined a aluminum/ metal set with a rubber seal of these carb holders... i mean it would be expensive at first but i would pay off down the rode...

                            Be thankful you live where u are, prices for parts down here are such that it is most often cheaper, (exchange rates and freight inc) to get stuff from o/s than to source locally. quityabitchin

                              I would think the aluminum would transfer to much heat to the carbs. Whatever you use to make the seal between the carb and manifold, o-ring or what ever would have to take all the heat.

                              Has anyone ever taken a temperature of the intake side of the engine around the carb boots?
