    Stinkin' Header Wrap

Anybody wrapped their pipes and they smoke like a chimney?
I hope this smokin effect goes away or the wrap is gone....
I did it to match the carbon fiber work I'm doing and to prevent my legs getting fried since I ride in shorts in 100* OKC temps.

            Still laughing....

But is XSChops defense, there ain't no twisties there, or if there is, they hid 'em when I was there. Flat and straight is the rule. My mom was from Norman, and I went back with her while she was still alive. We were getting directions to somebody's house, and was told to go a little bit and turn at such-and-such hill. Well, I was born and raised in Washington state (within sight of Mt. Rainier), so I look for this 'hill'. Hill? What hill?? All I can see is flat... My mom goes 'it's that bump down there' (about 8' higher than eveything else..). Sheesh!

Although I've heard Kansas is really flat, but never made it up there.

              New Wrap

Hey Chop, I use wrap on my pipes and the smoke and smell went away just fine. Along with most of the black colour. If they get wet from rain or washing, steam comes back for a while but with no smell. The first few stoplights can look like you blew a rad hose (if they had one) . Relatively minor issues considering how cool they look especially on your bike.
There is a new product out that I'm going to try that uses Titanium and crushed lava rock that has been extruded and woven as opposed to the glass wrap currently available. It comes in 1" or 2" widths and supposed to take much higher direct heat (1800F). I would think that due to the materials used it may not soak up water so readily. They can be found at designengineering.com (800) 264-9472

Nice bike, sick pipes man. What swing arm did you use? I like the single sided look.

I have been considering this for a while for both cosmetics and performance. My questions for those that have done it are, how does the color hold up, and how hard is it to get the bug guts off?
