  • Windshield for XJ?

Looking to source a windshield but don't really like the large type that covers the whole front end... Hard to find selection so far from my research probably due to the lack of mouting locations on the XJ ...Maybe I need to upgrade to an XS!

I know some have mounted the regular handlebar-mounted windshields on the XJ by using the small segment of roundness on the bars. Other than that, many windshield mfgs sell mounting kits for square handlebars.
    1980 XS850SG - Sold
    1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

Whether you think you can, or you think you cannot - You're right.

I've got a national cycle F-16 tour windshield on my xs, it looks good and works well, mounts to the headlight so no worries about crazy square bars....

          Bite your tongue!!!!!

The XJ was an UPGRADE !

Seriously, though... If ya have to go with the std. tall fairing, you can always just mask off a line where ya want the height and shape, put a fine blade in a jigsaw, and shape it where you want it. What's on it now? Windjammer 4, Pacifico?

I knew that might grab some attention, sorry ok2play! I'm VERY happy with my XJ and not going back in time any time soon... It actually doesn't have anything of the wshield sort at all currently and ya that's always an option to modify it to fit.

Definately a work in progress...still have to replace some parts that the PO nicely cracked up in a low speed drop, nothing major though...

I am assuming you do not have a fairing, if so, I am currently using a harley fork mount system on my magna which works great and has nothing to do with the bars.
