  • electronic manual for an '81 RH

    Hi
Does anyone have a downloadable manual for an 1981 XS1100 RH? There are some differences to the Clymer manual.

    Thanks,
    Dale.

      Jim,
When you say they are similar are there many differences of consequence.
Have you fitted a fork brace to yuor bikes?

Jim is the more technical man. The fork tubes are 37mm. I ordered a Tarozzi fromPrecision Motorcycle parts but the one they supplied doesnt have enough lift over the guard.
I looked at the Tkat from America. Also telefix have one.
If you go through the search type in Tkat or fork brace and it will come up.
          Precision site is www.motorcycle-parts.com.au
          Costs Tarrozzi $190.40 del COD
          Tkat $US92.00 incl delivery
The only reason I chose tarrozi was time factor. They are black and complement the 1100RH colour.
Merriam have one that looks like Tkat but it is about twice the price
          Good Luck
          Glenn

            Hi Glenn,
What did you do with the fork brace you bought from Morocycle-parts that didn't have enough lift? Did you have to return it? I would grab the tarozzi if I knew it had the correct lift. Black would suit my bike as well.

            Thanks,
            Dale.

              Hi Dale,
I only got it today and have emailed them the problem. i noticed from their application list that there are 2 different types for the 1100.
I suspect that it wouldnt fit yours either because it needs to be about 25mm higher to clear the guard and give around 4mm clearance.
              Is yours a black one.
They seem to be like the old Falcons (Phase IV)
There goes a blue and white one and there goes a blue and white one and on and on.
              My e mail is tlgauau@yahoo.com.
I have to pull the motor out and do up my gearbox. Was missing 5th gear when I bought it.
Have had work and family birthdays making it a long job. ie I didnt start yet.
Just reassembling my xs650 to ride. Finally 6 weeks and no bike/s.
Next finish 1100 then start on my xs750.
Beats the heck out of working for a living, if I could only go without eating I would have more spare time
              Ciao Glenn

                Hi Glenn,
Would you believe that my XS 11 is a pink/purple colour. As soon as I have the head done, I'm painting it black.
I have been looking for a fork brace for a while. Can you let me know when they have fixed the problem with the fork brace. I'll order one from them then.

I have to admit, the XS1100 ready gets up and bookie. Mine flies. I have a spare XS1100 that I use for parts for the pink one. It's a 1978 standard. I bought it for a can of coke. Can't beat that price!

                BYN,
                Dale.

                  Hi,
Thanks for replying. Firstly: What does the "P.O." indicate on the right hand side handle bar? I know it is for the lights but thats all. Also the switch is broken so I can't move it from the "ON" postion. Any ideas?

                  Thanks,
                  Dale.

                    hi again.
                    Are you at work.
I am not going this evening so I have been surfing the net today hence the speed of reply.
                    You're right they go hard.
I took my wife for a short ride, new neighbourhood so I tagged it my way, and all she could do was laugh from the exhiliration. At least that is what she said.
Will get another tank and side covers one day and paint them up a different colour so when I want I can ride a "different" bike
Relly like the tank with the sculpting. Wonder what model will fit mine easily
Looking to ride to Coffs when all is done. Maybe meet up at the time.
                    Cheers Glenn

Does Tkat have an email address? Do you know his fullname and address. Do you know how much the fork brace was from Tkat for the special?

                          Hi Genn,
Yeah I am at work. Being a programmer sometimes has its advantages. It would be good to meet up at some time. It will have to be when my XS has its head fixed and I have a license. Shouldn't be to far away. When you get your new tank, please let me know, as my tank has some flakes and crap in it. Haven't been able to source another clean black one yet.

                          Thanks,
                          Dale.

                              Hi Glenn,
Still waiting for the bike to come back from the shop. It's in getting a major service, rings, etc. How did you go with that fork brace? I'm waiting to hear back from you before I order one from PPMP. Got a quote for $1000 to paint the bike a nice shinny black colour. Can't wait to get on it and ride, ride, ride. Did you go through the Q-Ride program to get your license?

                              -Dale.
