  • How many of us are there?

Is there any figures on how many of each year model were ever made?

I'm led to believe that my 1981Rh VIN 5N5000242 were only ever 900 made?

    What about 1978 - 1981?

Here's a thread where we all entered Serial numbers, trying to answer that question.

Maybe a CH11 roll call should be done to see how many active members we have?

Jonah? That must be an Aussie term??

The 5th gear issue may be a shift pawl problem. If you remove the shift pawl cover, you'll see where it engages a rotating shaft. There are pins in the end of the shaft, held in by a metal plate with tabs sticking out from it. When the tabs break off, the pins fall out, and you loose the ability to shift into that gear. I had the exact same problem when I first got my bike, and it's a super simple fix, once you get the parts (new retaining plate, and new pin). I later found the missing pin down in the oil pan when I did the 2nd gear fix.

                    Hey Tod,

I just went to the Member's List, then SEARCH, and then ADVANCED, and just put in the last post date of 2009-05-18 and before date of 2009-07-18..the requested format, and it showed 492 members! But I think even this number is inflated, due to several are relatively new members just posting in the bikes for sale or parts for sale forums!? But that's still almost 10%, pretty decent for a group like this if you ask me!

I am one of those people that don't post, at least it has been awhile.

I do however read all the posts.
