  • tach&speedo visors??

I got a 79' XS1100 special, with Yamaha fairing .Tach and speedo reflect glare right at line of sight thru fairing when at night.Does anyone make visors for tachs and speedos or any suggestions on a homemade one?I don't wanna cut down the fairing,I like it just where it is.

Yamaha made a visor for the fully dressed 1981 'H but they are almost impossible to find.

I've never seen one for the round gauges on a Special. You might try bending up some light aluminum to match the shape of your gauge set. Then for mounting, you'll need a tab that folds down in under the gauges that you can bolt to a couple of the instrument mounting bolts.

on my 78E I used the cover from a $1.00 plastic notebook binder. Used black electrical tape to hold to the guages. works just fine. As a bonus, the center lights (oil, turn, etc.) still reflect off the windshield with a "heads up display" effect.
Just a thought....turn your guages upside down for a true H.U.D. set up......naw, nevermind

Wow, the speedo is much more impressive in KPh!

Yup - our km is smaller than your mile, our litre is smaller than your gallon, and our buck is smaller than your buck. Hmm, wonder what else that leaves?
