  • Clutch not disengaging

So, we put the transmission and the clutch back into the XS1100F and all seemed to be in order.

However, once we tried to adjust the clutch cable, we found that the clutch would not disengage in any gear.

At first this seemed like the old cable needed to be replaced. Still, the push lever assembly is topping out in it's compartment. Which makes me think that the problem might be inside.

Does anyone have any ideas on troubleshooting this issue?
    Please advise.

Have you adjusted the push mechanism according to the procedure in the manual? Did you take apart the push mechanism when you had the cover off and lose the ball bearings?

Yeah, we adjusted the push mechanism by the book and did not take the thing apart at all.

Hate to say this, but the last time I read something like this on here, it wound up the clutch was not reinstalled properly. One of the washers was out of order or the basket was not engaged in the oil pump gear or something like that. JAT
