  • Need a new Head Gasket

I had a plug brake off on my 78e and had to pull the head to drill it out. I'm looking to buy a new head gasket. Partsnmore has a gasket kit for $77.00 but are out of stock. An OEM head gasket runs about $140.

Does anyone know where I can buy a head gasket at a reasonable price?

Ebay has several full sets for about $80-$90 and there is one that is just the Head Gasket for $43.99 (Item #360150702530). HTH

I have seen TRBig say he reuses them.

I wouldn't hesitate to reuse mine. I would probably spray it down with a little copperkote first though...

One of the corners came apart when I pulled the head so I wasn't able to reuse it.

Try a broken bolt extractor first. I've used a Snap-On extractor set to remove broken off plugs before and it took all of 30 seconds to do it.
