  • XJ oil level sensor

On the XJ there is an oil level sensor in the oil pan. When I did the "Black and Decker" fix to first and second gears, I somehow FUBAR'ed the sensor (a case of not looking where I was prying).

Now I get to look at the "OIL" warning LCD on the panel all the time as I am riding - which is real annoying. The sensor is no longer available from Yamaha, and I havn't seen one on E-Bay in 6 months.

Does anyone have a spare, or is there a way to work around this?

BTW - My tranny is still working perfectly after 2 months of riding hard. I bought a spare trans on E-Bay last Decenber, and it looks like I might not need it.
    Ciao,

    Hey Jean-Luc,
John is selling parts from 2 used xj1100j.
You can look in the "Classified Ads" section under "parts for sale".
Maybe you could find parts that you need.

(I already bought a seat from him, good condition)
