    Hi everyone...

    Not sure if this has been asked but does anyone have a diagram of the fuel line routing from the 4 port valve to the petocks and then to carbs? Did some searching here didnt find what I needed...

    I purchased one of those "in the barn" specials" and not much was left of the rubbers and such due to mice.

    The project is coming along nicely all painted and cleaned the petocks are a pain as everyone here knows lol.

    This is the last thing I think I have to figure out before I can start it and take it for a run. I have gone thru every nut bolt and wire on this machine over the last 14 months so would like to try and ride it this summer as it doesnt last long up here in Canada.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    If I read your question correctly, you need the diagram for the hose routing for the Octopus? If so...Look here: On 3-26-09 5:37 pm in the Discussion forum, Thread - "Where do all these hoses go?" Kirmit 77 (Austin Ingalls) posts a diagram for a '79 Special. Great job on your bike, sir! Very nice, and I dig the seat! Hope this helps.

        Now thats exactly what I been searching for

        Awesome and thank you very much may be riding this by the weekend. Seems like I been searching the wrong places for that diagram...

        The seat turned out very well I wanted something a lil different so I used '09 Cadilac Leather and did the work on my own simple $99 sewing machine (upholstery is so easy on bikes) all I changed on my sewing machine was the needle used a heavier one the lady recomended for denim/leather and went slow... I just finished the backrest and will be mounting that shortly matches the seat now

          good luck

          good luck trying to get the fuel line to not kink when doing what the diagram shows. I tried all kinds of stuff and always kinked. I just gave in and threw the thing in my parts box!!

            I used some Motion Pro Fuel line, Couldn't make it kink. You have to use clamps or wire-ties.

            I take it the sticker wasn't still under the seat pan?

            The Octy has the ports 1-4 marked in the casting.

              I've never had a problem with kinking. The trick is getting the right length of tubing. If it's too long or too short, then the kinks will show up. The nice thing is that once you have it set up, you don't have to worry about it moving and getting kinked later.

                This diagram is awesome hehe I did have my lines backwards. There was no kinking like it was mentioned the right length makes it work. I had them maybe 1/2" too long down to carb and it kinked. It's just real tricky getting them on the nipples. I used a bent needle nose pliers and then zip ties. I did the carb ones first then put the tank on then did the petock ones last once I was sure no leaks. But I will be taking the two off petock and reversing them then it should be correct... I also used standard -60 fuel lines from local bike shop...

                  Yeah, I use 8" long surgical locking foreceps. They can be tricky getting your fingers in there.

                    Finally got it!!!!!!!!!!!

                    I finally got it to work . For me the trick was going to the left with the right outlet and right with the left. Sort of like the delete for the octy but while using it. Oh happy day!
