  • Carb kits

Yesterday I cleaned and rebuilt some 80/81 carbs for a friend. The carb kits she got came from George Fix's ebay store, and I was really impressed with the quality and completeness of the kits. For $70 bucks she got four kits that included the complete float valve assemblies (including the screens) 120 and 125 mains, 42.5 pilots, mixture screws with springs, o-rings and washers, slide needles, and bowl gaskets. At a rate of $17.50 per kit (sold in sets of 4) that's a good deal. He doesn't soak you on the shipping either. George Fix is definitely my new first stop for carb kits.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

'79 XS11 Standard, Jardine 4/1, Dyna DC1-1 Coils, 145 mains, 45 pilots, plastic floats - 25.7mm, XV920 fuel valves, inline fuel filters, speed bleeders, Mikes XS pods, spade-type fuse block, fork brace, progressive fork springs/shocks, manual petcocks, 750 FD, Venture cam chain tensioner, SS brake lines

A lot of us buy from him when ever possible. Like Doug said, his stuff is correct and he only charges the actual shipping cost. A couple of months ago, I bought a complete engine gasket set, and he charged me only $5.60 for shippng. That was the actual postage.

Yep, that is who I got my carb kits from based upon advice from the forum. He also knew that there was a difference between the 80 and 81 carbs (although I am still not sure what that is) and made sure I got the right ones for my 81. The 81 kits do not include the needle though, and come with 110 and 120 mains.

Been buying from George for a few years now, very knowledgeable. He carries good quality products and has always done me right.
Even when I ordered fork seals for my XS750 2D that turned out to have later model forks on it, He swapped them out, no problem.
