650 Central will go beyond the 650, as he is Vintage Brake.

To answer your question, some XS650's are/were equipped with dual front brakes. They are the same or similar to the XS1100.

The dual-disc models do, but not the single disc....

Not sure what that meant. I'm just saying the vast majority of problems on these just need a breakdown and cleaning. Not looking for a way around it. At least try.

I have put in a rebuild kit already and have cleaned them out very well. But there were some markings and maybe pitting inside the bore. When I open it up this winter and I still think there might be something in there its going in the trash. I am not going to mess around with the brakes. I plan to put a lot more miles on next season that I am/have at this point. So I want perfect brakes not just acceptable brakes.

Not starting a P match with you. Just saying if he takes it apart and cleans it may work fine. I ( not really) have orange hair, you should to. Do what I did.

Get the tool and take it apart or don't Just my advice .Your choice. You will love orange hair, I do.

I have M/c kits I bought (not for sale) Not needed yet.

I'm honored, you've brought back my thread that's over a year old.

I don't blame you Nate, when I stripped mine and cleaned it, all my guts in the master cylinder were in good shape. I've had no problems with the front brakes since I did this. If you're still having problems or aren't happy with it, by all means upgrade. With brakes it's definitely better to be safe than sorry.

Thing for me is my back brake needs the same treatment I'm pretty sure. It has good grip, I can lock the rear tire if i need to, but it seems a little mushy. When I did the pads I just filled the rear reservoir and bled it until i had new clean fluid coming out.

Just so you know this thread is from awhile back and another guy brought it up just in reference to the tool that was suggested. So the dirty MC I am sure has been reinstalled, cleaned out or not I do not know.
