    The bead locks are 180 degree apart! they SHOULD offset each other. IF the shop put them ~120 degree off, one lock is in place of the tube air fitting.

      There are only two bead locks on the rear wheel, they balance out with the valve stem. Here's a tip, Always take a case of beer with you if you take a Conti Tour or similar tire to be mounted on your rear wheel. They won't throw wrenches at you when you come back to pick it up, and if they do,the beer will impair their aim.

        Tyre balance

        Throw bead locks away, block holes with bolts with silicone, fit tubeless tyres. I did this on two bikes over 4 year period. Absolutely no problems. Also get much better tyres IMHO

          Thanks for the help. The dealer fixed the problem but never accepted responsibility. I did get my old tire back too, it only had 2k miles on it.

          First bike was an: 1978 XS1100
          Second bike is an FJR1300.
          Now I'm restoring a '79 XS1100.
