Nudity?? um ok.. - Photobucket has been buggy lately.. I copy paste a URL to a new pic.. and it posts a funny picture ( That didnt have nudity in it btw- Or it would be against the terms of service of photobucket FYI)

I kinda need new Petcocks. because mine have been sitting with Tarnish in them for like 10 years at least.. I'll try to show you a pic of them tommorow- There at the shop & not in my garage..

I mean the insides are jus clogged with tarnish.. Tough stuff too- I dont know how i would get them out of the inner parts I cant take a nail or file and get out..

The Petcocks are sitting in a gallon of gas.. have been for the past week..

Still i think im going to need some better ones.. I cant rebuild them with that kit unless I was capable of getting all that crap out of them

There's been a few posts recently about different products for cleaning parts. I'm sure one of them would get your petcocks clean!

                  Hey there Ecthemc,

There are a couple of rubber parts in the petcocks that won't like cleaner, but they are most likely worn out anyways, so a rebuild kit will be what you want. The Petcock filter towers are just pressed into the petcock and can be removed. A bucket of carb cleaner should degunk those petcocks parts just fine, and you can take the petcocks apart of course, the 2 screws on the faceplate allows the valve, wavy washer/spring, rubber valve assembly to come out. Oh yeah, there are the vacuum valve parts on the bottom/back as well...forgot you had a standard! Pay close attention to the handles and bodies, because they are SIDE specific, and will mess up your functions IF you mix and unmatch them!

Also, polishing the rubber mating surface of valve goes a long way in making things slide easier, and not tear up the rubber valve so quickly!

                              Ecthemc,

If you need to get rust out of the tank or any other metal parts I recommend you try Evaporust. Auto parts stores carry it or you can get it online.

Works well and when it is spent you can just pour it down the kitchen drain. It's completely enviromental friendly.
