  • rear axle nut torque

My clymer calls for 76 ft-lbs. but then my holes don't quite line up for the cotter pin. Which is better, just a little tight or just a little loose?

Thanks guys, got a new tire on the rear, new right bearing new seals both sides and new rear brakes. My front got the same treatment, two new bearings, new seals, new tire, new fork seals, progressive springs and one o' them fancy tkat fork braces; I'm just waiting on my front brake pads to get here to button up that end. (my parts guy ordered 3 sets of rear pads )

The reason is he didn't know your bike was SPECIAL!! He thought he was dealing with just a STANDARD. And the bike is probably OLDER than the parts man!
