Has anyone ever heard of this Oxalic Acid? I've read that it is incredible for taking rust off of chrome. I'm thinking of giving it a shot with the headers on my exhaust (maybe the pipes themselves as well) and the engine guards that I got.
From what I've read, all you have to do is create a mixture of this stuff with water and soak what ever you want the rust removed from in it only taking it out every so often to wipe the removed rust off with a sponge or maybe a light scrubbing with a toothbrush. The pictures that I've seen from people that have done it are incredible. Here's a link to what I've found... http://www.vintagebmx.com/community/...wtopic=4004702 Now granted, these folks are doing this to vintage bmx bikes, but I don't think that should make a difference.
My other question is, will it be ok to soak my mufflers? Is the water going to do any damage to the inside of them?
