turn signal flasher or ??

Well, my turn signals do nothing at all. I have checked power at the flasher and brown is hot. The handlebar switch brown/white is also hot. Still I get nothing. Has anyone replaced the stock flasher with an automotive one? If so, any idea which wires go to which terminals? I am thinking it may be the flasher. My self canceller has never worked and I don't care if it does or not. Sure appreciate any help, this is the last thing to fix before I can ride!!

Flasher

I have replaced my flasher with an automotive one. Use a two prong universal type. Plug into three prong plug using only two wires. If it doesn't work at first try the other two connectors, it will work. Standards run about $3.00. Electronics run about $9.95.
Auto zone, Wal-Mart, etc carries these. No cancellor though, but i don't have a problem turning them off. HTH
