  • TCI Fix advice?

I have a 79 eleven special which is suffering from hesitation all the way through the rpms. Pulled the plugs and plug 1 & 4 are quite black, 2 & 3 look ok. I had the bike in the shop for a safety / tune up and the guy said my pick up coil wires tested ok and he couldn't locate the problem.
    After reading this site
    http://home.ptd.net/~theragos/tci%20faq's.htm
I'm tempted to do the TCI fix and re solder the connections but wanted to hear from you guys first, anyone have any experience with this?

    thanks

Well, yeah, I do! That's my webpage.

If the connections are poor in the TCI, the solder fix will work. Many here have done it. If you have any experience soldering electrical connections, it's a breeze.

BTW, good idea to put fresh plugs in 1&4 after you do the fix.
