OK, I have a new tube of Yamabond #4 and all of the gears, parts and pieces are loaded into the engine, torqued down, lock nutted, oiled, prayed over, etc. and I am ready to mate the two cases. I see in the manual that I cannot get closer than 2mm to the bearings, but I have a few questions before I do this thing.
- What is the best method to apply the goo? If I mess up, can I just wipe the excess off?
- How thick should the goo be?
- What do I do about the excess that oozes on the inside when I tighten things up? Or better yet, how do I avoid that happening?
- Is there a best practice for assembling the two cases? I put them together without Yamabond, but it took some manuvering and I am worried about the goo touching other parts of the engine, bearings etc.
- Any other advice that I should know about? I will wait until I hear responses until I attempt to put this thing together.
